The cost of a funeral
We guarantee to be completely open and honest about our charges, and believe that we offer the best value for money available in St Neots, Huntingdon and St Ives. Our small size and low overheads mean that we do not have to pass on any unnecessary charges to you.
Along with all other funeral directors, from 16th September 2021 we are required by law to publish a Standardised Price List, an Additional Options Price List, our Terms of Business, a Disclosure of Interests and local Crematorium Price Information. We also publish our policy on Payments to Third Parties. You may find it easier and more accurate to use our estimate generator to calculate the cost of a funeral.
If you are offered a more competitive price for a funeral, please let us know. We really want to provide the best value in the area, and we’ll happily ensure that you are getting this by checking other quotes for you, and ensuring you are comparing like-for-like.
At Kingfisher we like to think that we do things a little bit differently. Not only do we cost less, but we offer an unparalleled level of service, find out how we do it.
Some examples of funeral prices
We adopt a flexible approach to our services, but here are some examples of funeral prices to help you budget:
Direct cremation using a local crematorium
An unattended cremation at a local crematorium with no ceremony. We take the person who has died to the crematorium and return the ashes to you at a mutually convenient time.
The Kingfisher Goodbye Service
Spend some time with the person who has died, together with family and friends. Listen to music, look at photos and share memories, but without the formality of a ceremony.
A simple funeral at Huntingdon crematorium
A funeral with no fuss, but including all the necessities. You can also use Cambridge crematorium or Bedford crematorium, where prices will be slightly different.
A small local funeral (burial or cremation)
To keep the funeral intimate and local, we can offer you the use of our own ceremony rooms, which can seat between 20 and 30 people. Live streaming of the funeral ceremony is available at a small additional cost.
A traditional funeral (burial or cremation)
A traditional funeral may include a procession, with a hearse and accompanying limousines, a religious ceremony at a church, crematorium or a cemetery. We can advise and guide you through the arrangements.
A woodland burial (eco-friendly burial)
Woodland burials take place in environmentally friendly coffins made from sustainable materials. Ceremonies can be religious or non-religious, either outside around the grave, at a church or other suitable setting.
